Pale purple coneflower (Echinacea pallida) starter plant (dormant)

Pale Purple Coneflower (Echinacea pallida) has lighter colored petals and blooms a little earlier that purple coneflower. A little taller and narrower leaves than purple coneflower too. Sun loving prairie plant that is drought tolerant once established. Great plant for butterfly / pollinator garden.

These have gone dormant for the season. Most of the native plants we sell need a natural dormancy period and we keep them outside to naturally go through this. The plants you will receive will have yellowing, or little to no foliage left on them, but will have good roots. After planting they will continue to grow more roots so treat them like they were growing even when no foliage is visable.

These are first year seedlings. They are much slower growing than regular purple coneflower and often take 2-3 years to flower for the first time. They will need a little extra care to make sure they don’t get overtaken by other quicker growing plants or weeds.

All of our plants are grown in biodegradable fabric pots. The containers are around 4″x4 1/2″ May be planted in the pot or removed .
