Common blue eyed grass Sisyrinchium albidum starter plant DORMANT

$8.00

Common blue eyed grass Sisyrinchium albidum starter plant. Despite the name “grass” is in the lily family. Small sunloving prairie plant with beautiful blue flowers in early summer. Makes a beautiful companion with other short prairie plants. Don’t put near taller prairie plants as they will likely shade and crowd them out. Fairly easy to grow but may not flower till it’s second season. I have found to be a nice self seeder.

These have gone dormant for the season. Most of the native plants we sell need a natural dormancy period and we keep them outside to naturally go through this. The plants you will receive will have yellowing, or little to no foliage left on them, but will have good roots. After planting they will continue to grow more roots so treat them like they were growing even when no foliage is visable.

All of our plants are grown in biodegradable fabric pots. The containers are around 4″x4 1/2″ May be planted in the pot or removed . With these plants, I suggest tearing the sides of the farbric pot for easier root penetration if left on when planting.
